IQ Option account types: demo, real, VIP and Islamic, and which one you need
One IQ Option login gives you a demo account and a real account. Each person can have one real account, and the currency you choose at your first deposit is permanent.
What account types does IQ Option have?
IQ Option has two accounts, demo and real. VIP and Islamic are modes of the real account, not separate accounts. Malaysian clients get no "Pro", "Gold" or "Premium" account. The wider picture is in our IQ Option Malaysia review.

Demo account vs real account
The demo account is for practice. It starts with $10,000 of virtual money that you can refill, and profits on it can't be withdrawn. To switch between demo and real, click your balance at the top right of the platform. Our demo account guide has more.
The real account uses your own money. You can lose all the money you deposit, and you can withdraw only after your account is verified. Good demo results don't guarantee the same results with real money.
Opening a real IQ Option account from Malaysia
The real account starts with your first deposit. The minimum depends on how you pay:
- RM42 by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Volet
- RM50 by Malaysian bank
- RM100 by DuitNow QR

You must be 18 or older and can have one real account only. A second account can get all your accounts closed and your trades voided. Opening extra accounts to reach VIP is abuse.
Malaysian clients are served by Sky Ladder LLC (Antigua and Barbuda, FSRC registration RA000008). IQ Option is not licensed by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) or Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM).
Can I change my IQ Option account currency?
No. You choose MYR, USD, EUR or GBP at your first deposit, and the currency is locked after that deposit.
If a payment is in a different currency from your account, IQ Option charges a 4% conversion fee. Choose MYR if you pay from a Malaysian bank.
IQ Option VIP account
VIP is a status on your real account. It is automatic, with no application and no fee. IQ Option may change the rules and the benefits.
How to get and keep VIP

Trading volume is the total size of the trades you open, not your profit. The amounts are in US dollars. If you miss the keep rule, the account reverts to normal.
The more you deposit and trade to reach these numbers, the more money you have at risk. Don't deposit or trade more just to reach VIP.

What VIP is not
You can't buy VIP. Stay away from paid "VIP signal" groups, people selling VIP accounts, and "account managers" who contact you first on WhatsApp, Telegram or Facebook. This is our advice, not an IQ Option statement.
Islamic account (swap-free)
The Islamic account is a free mode of your real account. It switches on instantly, needs no documents and works before your first deposit.
How to switch it on
- In the account menu next to your avatar
- Or with the "☪ ON" toggle in the header of the classic traderoom
- On IQ Option's new platform there is no switch: ask support
With it on, you can trade Digital options on 175+ OTC instruments only. CFDs are not available.
IQ Option's terms say it does not guarantee that the swap-free account complies with any particular faith or religion. Whether trading is permissible is a separate question, covered in Is IQ Option halal or haram?
Verification
You can't withdraw before your account is verified. IQ Option asks for:
- An ID document
- Proof of address dated within the last 3 months
- Proof of the card or e-wallet you deposited with

Account security and closing your account
Two-step login
Switch on two-step login by SMS in Settings → Security.
How to close your account
- Open Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom.
- Click "Close Account".
On IQ Option's new platform, menu names can differ. Ask support.
Before you close
- Withdraw your balance.
- Close your open positions.
- An active bonus blocks withdrawals until its wagering is done or the bonus is cancelled.
Either side can end the agreement with 15 days' written notice. IQ Option keeps verification documents and transaction records for at least 7 years.

Tournaments
IQ Option runs tournaments, and the leaderboard has a Malaysia tab. VIP accounts enter for free. We list no entry fees or prizes here, so check the entry cost on IQ Option before you join.
